So Much Harder
written by Morbid Angel10:30 PM 12/18/04| It's so much fucking harder when you're look upon as a solidier, It's like an entirely new weight dropped onto your shoulders. Nothings supposed to beat me or pull me down, this smiles gotta stick and not turn into a frown. I can't handle this weight that I'm expected to, can't handle the battles or the insults they threw. When you cried I was supposed to be beside you, but I'm breaking too. Once an identity is built it can never be squashed, once a lie spreads around the world it can never be stopped. Every now and then I think fuck it, whats the point in being something I'm not, living a life based on bullshit. This war as a soldier has faded away, I've lost it, I'm the one crying now but it's always me that causes it. Lay me down to die, broken empty remains killed, take away the disguise I took so long to build. I tried to be good, but I'll never be enough. Blood dripping from my wrists and escaping my mouth, it's like my soul is trying to slowly trickle out. It's like my heart got tired of beating and said fuck it, slow down to just a single beat a minute. Theres no soldier in her heart, way too weak and torn apart. I'll break you down with words but I'm nothing real, no armour plated chest, no heart of steel. Life steered off in the wrong direction, the mirror broken and distorted my reflection. Something got caught and clogged up my mind, that was the moment I stopped being fine. When you attacked and you and I became us, when slowly my strength took to protecting our sacred trust. |
