Creature of the night

to me, the beauty of the forest as it glowed
in the light of the moon and stars
I worshipped this image near and far
he showed me love in desired embrace
as tears rolled gently down my face
he showed me peace in love
as he took from my blood
he gave to me a light
to see forever in the night
he gave me strength to exist
with his bloodied kiss
he gave the whole world to me
as I have never seen
beauty at every turn
beauty that fiercely burns
but nothing matches this preternatural being
as he is quietly dreaming
of the girl he took from the light
and made of her a creature of the night |
