Black and fragile
Like a baby demon
With a heart of glass
I can’t take flight
I’m still too weak
I open my mouth
Prepare to scream out
Nothing but a whisper
Cowering into the corner
Crying out like a child
No one ever sees me
The demon child
All they ever see
Black wings and sharp fangs
Tearing me down
As the glass shatters
My wings take flight
I don’t care anymore
Taken away my fright
They’ll see someday
My wings were just feathers
And my heart of glass
Just a child
Born of another world |
