» Poem: Father
Father
written by lost_and_forgotten

Don't tell me that you love me
I'm not your little girl
I do not wear a frilly dress
My hair's not in a curl

Don't tell me that you're sorry
You're fifteen years too late
You broke my heart too many times
You always made me wait

All I ever wanted
Was a father who was there
All I ever needed
Was for you to care

But now I want you far from me
Not even in my head
And so I pray you will be gone
When I awake in bed
