Moments

only to be shared with the person you love.
To be commited to passion and
commited to pain and
commited to whatever life may bring along with it.
A moment,
a while,
a lifetime.
Imagine a lifetime worth of kisses.
Or just one, long, enduring kiss.
Laced with love,
pressed with passion,
forgotten by time.
Kept soully to be treasured in your heart
along with those long winter nights by the fire
with your love.
It's as if time stops,
so you can embrace that moment with your arms
wide open and
heart full of love,
warmth, and
happiness.
Then the fire dies
and it forms embers
as the relationship dies
and forms ashes.
The kiss of bliss is broken,
shattered into many pieces
by the one you adore.
By the one you poured you life and soul into.
The one you'd sell you soul to the devil for.
Alas, he was not yours to begin with.
He had his eyes on another, while you were at work.
Time lost, forgotten by the bliss and passion you held.
Each time like the first.
But now in hiensight,
each like the last.
You sit there by the fire in the winter,
drenched in sorrow.
Why do men wear their heart in their pants?
And you remember the kiss which lasted a lifetime.
One that he is unable to return.
A moment left to be swallowed by time and forgotten. |
