For Flynn

Like a voice in a tear,
Illuminating my worst fear,
Break through skys of blue.
I'm a creature of flesh and bone,
You can break and burn me,
Laugh at or discredit me,
But your in my court so here your warned,
You just stepped into the eye of the storm.
Your face against the asphalt,
As your jaw bone shatters,
With fingers clinging to your greasy hair,
Bleeding you off the floor your battered.
And I hear the energy filter through this empty arena,
I step into the circle to face,
My demons set up three by three.
And on my knuckles I look to see,
Blood mixed with sweat and splintered soul.
Wait....
Wait....
Wait....
You hear the graveyard sing the chorus,
Your the man who has to stand and fight,
In this circle as it spins round and round,
The love for the hurt you have found.
As the place explodes and fists fly,
You walk like a shadow into the center,
Untouched by the hate that swirls around you.
Underwater bass pumps through your veins,
Distant yet so close you let it fill inside your heart.
And the calmness reigns down on you like a rain,
Your head slowly rises above the lake,
Your eyes fixed on the pit you step to it and take,
All the passion all the hate,
Here you bury a grave and seal within your pain. |
