» Poem: In The Wake Of The Fall
In The Wake Of The Fall
written by Mars_Phoenix

Peaks set so high,
My limits seem to go beyond the sky,
I'm forced to look beyond the lie.

Standing strong, towers so tall,
Splitting the clouds, you rise above all.

On its way, how could I forget that day?
The deafening silence fills the air,
As the people stare to numb to share,
Their words or pain.
As I feel the weight pushing me into the fire,
Charring my insides, scarred with hate.
My fate to love only what I've lost,
No, God this was at to great a cost.

See the tears, and tell me this isnt real,
Cut me down before I feel.

It has begun and we're all to blame,
If we only tried so many wouldn't have died.
But, fuck you! They gave their lifes and if I could trade,
If the debt could be paid, would I dare to stand there and pretend?
That I knew those people and how it would end?
