Black Balloons
written by cryptic_misery08:05 PM 3/8/05She stands alone
One step left till the edge of the world...
Gone.
Stretching her arms out wide
A solid black tear of mascara bleeds down her cheek...
With a slight wind chill down her back
A cool, crisp breeze
About to blow her away
I stay silent while watching from a distance
As she is ready to fall for the last time
She leaves this world behind
Creating a whole new story...
This little girl
A reflection of me
A presence my eyes lay upon from my window
Takes a breath and jumps
I hit the glass with a fist of anger
Tears shoot down my face
We're dying now..
It's almost over....
Looking up at the sky the next day
I know she's still here...
Somewhere....
And I let go of the black balloons at her funeral...
And she flies into heaven
In her burial gown of snow... |
