» Poem: Until The Memory Is Gone.
Until The Memory Is Gone.
written by Morbid Angel
10:20 PM 3/2/05
It makes sense to love each other because we're both alone,
Someone to lie next to us to hold as we fall to sleep.
But you've erased me and I've got to come to terms,
With the fact that you let go and suddenly closed your heart.
Did I change? What did I become?
Are you just afraid to trust me once again?
But until the end of time,
I'll have my regrets.
And I'll love you in the night.
Feeling you rise up next to me,
Then down as you breathe in,
This has just become routine for me,
To watch you while you sleep.
And maybe one day I'll let go of you instead,
And stop living in the memory and plan what happens next.
I'm only living for myself.
To keep me hanging on until tomorrow,
Feeling so low and hidden alone,
Until the memory is gone.
