You See My Scars

You ask me questions
You beg me for confessions
You point and stare
You talk about me
It's all based on what you've seen
I don't need your help
I've been trying to tell you that all along
There's nothing wrong
When you notice my scars again
Don't ask me how they became
Don't ask if I felt any pain
My answer is simple
My secret is sweet
The things that I've told you, I don't expect you to keep
I don't cut to be noticed
Or to show others my shame
But to take the focus off of my mental pain |
