» Poem: why did you take my music away?
why did you take my music away?
written by piperneedshelp
05:17 AM 1/26/05
music
the root of my escape
if you take it away from me...
i dont know where i'd be
just set me free
from the chains around my ankles
give me the keys
let me leave
give me my music
let me sing, loud and proud
but i did something wrong tonight
i mentioned my need for it
that was enough for you
you told my mother i did something
something horrible, something bad
for punishment, you talked to her
you made her think....
"Emily!" she screams
my tears are already streaming
down my face, onto my pillow
you and her rummage through my room
taking everything musical
my cd's, my radio...my players
there is nothing i can do
i cry, all night long
all i can think about is my music
i heard you stashing them in the basement
you know i'm just going to get it, so i know thats not the end of this
tomorrow, i can see, you will destroy them all
and mother will believe you....
there is nothing i can do......
